October 10, 2019 — Schools across the ReNEW network are proud to celebrate National Hispanic Heritage Month with special lesson plans and on-campus events. This yearly observation is very important to the ReNEW organization, as it celebrates the culturally-rich heritage of many ReNEW students and staff members.
October 10, 2019 — The stage is set for another exciting ReNEW Bowl and Homecoming celebration, which takes place Saturday, October 26th at Joe W. Brown Park. Once again, the day will be packed with football games and performances from our talented bands and dance teams. Please be sure to save the date and make plans to enjoy the festivities and show your school spirit!
September 13, 2019 — At ReNEW Dolores T. Aaron Academy, ReNEW Schaumburg Elementary and ReNEW SciTech Academy, staff members and students celebrated the many grandparents in the ReNEW family. Students’ grandparents were invited to on-campus events at each of the schools on Friday, September 13.
May 15, 2019 — Ms. Ashlee Bush-Davis, 3rd & 4th grade science teacher at ReNEW Dolores T. Aaron Academy (DTA), has earned a New Orleans Excellence in Teaching Award. This week, OPSB Superintendent Dr. Henderson Lewis stopped by DTA to surprise Ms. Bush-Davis and her class with the award. Launched in 2015, the New Orleans Excellence in Teaching Award is a citywide award to recognize outstanding public school teachers.
April 9, 2019 — Students at ReNEW Dolores T. Aaron Academy (DTA) are working on final rehearsals for their upcoming Spring Concert, set for April 17 at 6:30 PM. The event will feature the DTA Concert Band, DTA “Young Heroes” Brass Band, and guest artists ranging from the New Orleans Jazz Orchestra’s NOJO 7 to Preservation Hall’s Kevin Louis. The 60 students in the DTA Band Program have been preparing for this night the entire school year, and are excited to showcase their talents.
