July 19, 2017 -- Due to delays in construction at the ReNEW SciTech Academy (STA) campus, the first day of the 2017-2018 school year is now set for Monday, August 7. Classes at all other PK-8 campuses in the ReNEW Schools network will begin as scheduled on Tuesday, August 1.

The refurbishment work at the STA facility, located at 820 Jackson Ave., has included numerous updates and improvements to the school building.

“This has been an important renovation project for the ReNEW SciTech campus,” said Kevin Guitterrez, CEO of ReNEW Schools. “Crews have made tremendous progress and the work is nearly complete. We want to ensure the building is ready for students to return on day one, and we're looking forward to welcoming them back to a significantly-improved facility on August 7.”

Parents who would like to register at ReNEW SciTech Academy or learn more about the school are invited to attend parent orientation on Thursday, July 20 at True Love Missionary Baptist Church (2710 Philip Street, New Orleans, LA 70113). Orientation begins at 5:00 PM.

“We can’t wait to get started, and we’re eager to share some of the great things we have planned for the 2017-2018 school year at orientation,” said Emir Davis, STA School Director.
