ReNEW’s School Performance Scores Reflect Strong Growth

New Orleans, LA – This week, the Louisiana Department of Education (LDOE) released School Performance Scores (SPS) for the 2021-2022 school year, and ReNEW Schools saw strong growth. ReNEW Dolores T. Aaron (DTA), ReNEW Laurel Elementary (Laurel) and ReNEW Schaumburg Elementary (Schaumburg) earned ‘A’ letter grades in the LDOE’s Progress Index, which measures growth year-to-year.

All three ReNEW schools gained a letter grade, and each now rank in the Progress Index Top 10 for open enrollment charter schools across the city. ReNEW Dolores T. Aaron Academy and ReNEW Laurel Elementary placed second and third respectively in this category.

When looking at overall SPS, both Laurel and DTA now rank in the Top 10 for open enrollment schools in the city.

ReNEW Chief Executive Officer Tanya Bryant said these results represent hard work, resilience and pride among students, teachers and staff members across the network.

“I’m so incredibly proud of our students and the entire ReNEW team. Although these past two and a half school years have been challenging, I’ve witnessed amazing dedication, tenacity and flexibility,” Bryant said. “We believe our scores reflect the tremendous amount of hard work put forth and we are looking forward to the continued achievement of our students.”
