November 8, 2018 — Two ReNEW Schools pre-kindergarten programs earned a ‘Top Gains’ rating from the Louisiana Department of Education. With more than 180 Pre-K programs operating in Orleans Parish, ReNEW SciTech Academy and ReNEW Early Childhood Center at McNair are among a group of only nine others across the city to earn this rating as part of their Performance Profiles.
“We’re very proud of the gains made by ReNEW’s early childhood programs, and we’re committed to continuing that progress as we prepare our very youngest students for success,” said ReNEW CEO Tanya Bryant.
Performance Profiles measure the quality of publicly-funded early childhood sites serving at-risk children ages birth-five for each academic year. These profiles are required by Act 3 (2012), and include a rating at the top (Excellent, Proficient, Approaching Proficient, Unsatisfactory) and a set of informational metrics at the bottom. These profiles are shared with families to help them make informed choices for their children and support providers to improve the quality of early childhood care and education.
