August 29, 2017 -- All ReNEW schools will be open Wednesday, August 30.
ReNEW Schools leaders made this decision based on recommendations from city and Recovery School District officials, as well as updated information from the National Weather Service. In the event of a significant change in the weather forecast, ReNEW will immediately notify parents and guardians regarding any adjustments to our Wednesday schedule.

ReNEW Schaumburg Elementary to pilot swim program
August 15, 2017 -- ReNEW Schaumburg Elementary School, in partnership with NORDC and the American Red Cross, will pilot a swim program at Joe W. Brown Park during the 2017-18 school year. The goal is to raise awareness and begin pushing all students in New Orleans public schools to learn water safety and skills.

Due to the issues with the city’s pumps and the potential for more severe weather, we made this decision in consultation with the Recovery School District out of an abundance of caution. Our students’ safety is a top priority.
